Scholarships
WELCOME TO THE HAVELOCK HIGH SCHOLARSHIP PAGE.
There are many different types of Scholarships. Let's take a look together to get a better understanding of what they are and how they work. There are:
Merit-based scholarships: are for students who excel in a certain field, such as athletics or academics. Other types of merit awards include scholarships for students who play instruments or students who are involved in leadership.
Local: offered by local organizations, churches, workplaces, banks, etc.
High School Specific: available to students who attend a specific high school.
Military: available to active or reserve service members and veterans and can extend to family members.
National: can be merit-based but is primarily accessible by all students across the country.
High School Specific: available to students who attend a specific high school.
Athletic: Athletic scholarships are a type of aid based on a student's participation in a particular sport.
Need-based aid: is determined by students' financial situation rather than only by their merit. This often means the student's family has a household income that does not exceed a certain threshold.
Employer-sponsored Tuition Assistance: working students should ask their employers if such assistance exists.
Activity Based: on a student's involvement in a profession, hobby, or extra-curricular activity.
Identity-based: typically awarded to underrepresented groups.
Offers from colleges and many, many more.
