Dear Parent/Student:
Please join us on Monday, November 3rd, for our Veterans Day Celebration at 8:30 am in the gym. If you are a veteran, active duty, Reserves, or National Guard member and wish to attend, please use this link to complete a form so that we can recognize you.
We are creating a Veterans Day Wall of Honor. Please submit a photo of your veteran to place on our Wall of Honor for Veterans Day.
Federal Impact Aid Cards were distributed at the end of September. Please take a few moments to complete and return your child’s Federal Impact Aid Card as soon as possible. These cards were due on Friday and are extremely important because they help our school district collect federal funds that directly support our students.
WorkKeys testing will take place on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. WorkKeys are a series of assessments developed by ACT that measure job-related skills in areas like applied math, reading, and graphic literacy. In high school, students take these tests to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), which helps them demonstrate essential workplace skills to employers on their resumes and job applications. Students taking these assessments have been notified.
Check-In benchmark assessments will take place beginning this week for fall semester courses and yearlong courses. The testing window for Check-Ins ends on November 14th.
Report cards were distributed last week. If your student needs academic support, please note that tutoring is available Monday through Thursday from 2:45 - 4:45 pm in Room 122. Academic support is also available through Ramtime, Monday through Friday, 7:20 - 8:04.
What is Ramtime? It is an intervention and enrichment block that is built into the school day. Students may be claimed by their teacher during this time if they need extra academic support. Students may also sign up for a teacher if they would like extra help as well. Students with less than 75 in any class or missing more than 3 assignments are required to participate in academic support to improve their grades. Students do have an opportunity to participate in enrichment or club activities throughout the week during the RamTime as well.
As a reminder, when submitting absence notes through our absence QR code, be sure students are logging in through Classlink. This will enable recognition of the email from which the absences are being recorded. Please reach out if you have any questions.
If your family has been affected by the recent government shutdown or is experiencing financial hardship for any reason, families can apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals at any time during the school year. Please follow the link or visit the Craven County School website to apply.
