We are excited to announce that February is Career and Technical Education Month! CTE prepares students for college and future careers by introducing employability skills and offering courses in Health Science, Foods and Nutrition, Business and Marketing, Computer Science, Adobe Academy, Woodworking, Agriculture, Automotive and so much more! Computer Science - Employment of computer and information systems managers is projected to grow 10 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. Demand for computer and information systems managers will grow as firms increasingly expand their business to digital platforms. Accounting I - Did you know as the U.S. economy continues to grow, demand for accountants is growing with it? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, between 2018 and 2028, the number of jobs for accountants and auditors is expected to grow by 6% (an increase of more than 90,000 jobs), which is faster than the average for all jobs.

Technology Engineering and Design - Employment of mechanical engineers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2019 to 2029, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Job prospects may be best for those who stay abreast of the most recent advances in technology. The median annual wage for mechanical engineers was $88,430 in May 2019. Drafting- Did you know there are currently an estimated 99,600 drafters in the United States? The drafter job market is expected to grow by 8.1% between 2016 and 2026 and the avg. salary is $48,000 a year. Contact Mrs. Peterson for more information about a career in Drafting.

Automotive- A career in Automotive can be a lucrative position with continued education and experience. The salary for entry-level auto techs typically starts around $30,000 per year, but it can quickly grow to more than $60,000 per year for senior techs. Superstars can make six figures. In addition, most auto careers offer great benefits, comfortable working environments, and access to continued training and education. Ag- Animal Science - 619,172 The number of beef farms in the United States Beef farming accounts for 29% of American farms. Ag - Horticulture - Have you ever planted a garden or taken care of a house plant? Both of those activities are part of horticulture. The word 'horticulture' comes from the Latin word hortus, which means 'garden.' A horticulturist is someone who cares for plants and studies ways to make them grow better.
